There is a clear correlation between excellent attendance and exceptional achievement. We work closely with parents and children to ensure students are meeting a minimum of 96% attendance.
To report your child absent from school, please use the StudyBugs app. All parents and carers should have downloaded the app if at all possible, at the start of term. You can download the app here: studybugs.com/about/parents
Alternatively, you can go to http://studybugs and report your child’s absence via this website.
Should you have any issues downloading the app, logging in or adding your child please get in touch with Studybugs directly by emailing support@studybugs.com.
In the rare case that you are unable to use Studybugs to report an absence, you may ring the school on (01903) 601361 and leave a message.
Wherever possible, medical/dental appointments should be arranged outside school hours. Where this is not possible a request for absence form must be submitted, or in the event of an emergency appointment being obtained, evidence must be provided. Failure to provide either of those may result in the absence being unauthorised.
Headteachers have been directed by the Government not to authorise any absence from school unless there is an ‘exceptional’ circumstance.. In these circumstances, parents/carers must apply to the Headteacher using the Request for Leave of Absence Form which can be collected from reception. Any holiday taken, which has been applied for and declined, and which involved 10 or more sessions (5 school days of absence) will result in a referral for a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) being issued and subsequent fine.
