Our school uniform code has taken account of and delivers the DfE statutory guidance: Cost of School Uniforms (November 2021).
Our uniform and PE items are available from our school uniform supplier Broadwater Sports, 37 Broadwater Street West, Worthing, BN14 9BY. Telephone: 01903 234 589 or online at http://www.broadwatersports.co.uk
Core items may also be available from other school wear suppliers but they must be compliant with the school uniform policy. If you are unsure, please check with the school before purchasing uniform items to ensure they meet the school requirements. Families entitled to free school meals should contact the school to discuss uniform arrangements.
Specialist kits may be required for specific sports teams.
Blazers: Blazers are to be worn by all students throughout the day around the school site, unless Summer Uniform has been announced. Badges on blazers must be school-related only (ERA badges or responsibility badges, or badges to identify preferred nouns). School lanyards are also permitted.
Jewellery: Any jewellery must be unobtrusive. One small plain ring, no more than one small matching stud in each earlobe. No other piercings are allowed in school. If a piercing is newly added, a clear retainer must be worn and installed at the time of piercing. No visible chains or necklaces, and ankle/face jewellery should be worn.
Make-up: Make-up should be discreet; neutral colours only. Nail Varnish – discreet colours only. False nails of any type are not allowed in school.
Hair: must be neat and tidy. Long hair must be tied back for health and safety reasons in some areas e.g. PE, Science and Design & Technology. Extreme styles or non-natural colours are not permitted, e.g. tram lines or any inappropriate shaving of head hair.
Outside Coats, and bags: Coats to be worn over (not instead of, or under) blazers in cold weather. No hoodies/hooded tops to be worn at all. School Hoodies are only permitted to be worn for specific school trips and linked events. Any motifs or labels on coats or bags etc. must be discreet and inoffensive (i.e. not sexist, racist or relating to drugs culture in any way)
Summer Uniform: The school will communicate where appropriate upon hot days which items of uniform can be removed or changed. We take guidance from local weather forecasts issued by the MET office.
