Bohunt School Worthing welcomed students from three Bohunt Education Trust (BET) schools to take part in a cross-trust enrichment day on Tuesday 7 December.
Students from Bohunt Liphook, Steyning Grammar School and the Costello School were given the opportunity to work on projects using iPads to produce high-quality videos.
The day, led by Ben Carter, Assistant Headteacher at Bohunt School Worthing and Kane Chapman, Digital Learning Lead, ran a number of hands-on sessions including some key filming fundamentals such as scene-setting, ensuring you have good sound and lighting when filming, using green screen and editing footage. Some sessions were led by student digital leaders in Year 8, 9 and 10. These students are the school’s experts in film editing and digital media. The digital leaders are led by Mr Attrell and Mr McPherson.
Students braved the south coast storms to film different scenarios outside such as interviews and also had the opportunity to work with green screens in the drama studio.
Ben Carter said: “The iPad Legacy Day was a great opportunity for students across BET to learn new skills in video production using the iPad. Students learnt how to set up videos, how lighting and sound are important. We hope that they left inspired to get creative in their own video production.
It also has to be noted that students showed great resilience in carrying out their projects as they braved the storms on the south coast.”

Kane Chapman added: “it was great to be able to showcase the skills that we use at Bohunt Worthing. We’re really proud of our digital leader students who led sessions and helped out massively. They are a great asset to our school.
Digital leader Ben Williams (Year 8) said: “I really like being a digital leader and I’m really pleased we could show students from other schools what we do today. I really enjoyed helping students create green screen movies and edit them so they look really professional.
