They have been designed to support all students regardless of starting points with literacy support and opportunities to extend learning beyond the curriculum. At Bohunt Worthing we employ a Maths ‘Mastery’ scheme of work to reflect the increased focus on application and problem solving found within the new 9-1 GCSE.
It is imperative that students can recall the key facts and formulae found on the knowledge organisers. However, their progress in Maths will be measured, both in class and in their final exam, by their ability to reason and problem solve with these key skills.
To reflect this, knowledge organiser retention will be set periodically for homework and assessed in class; however more familiar homework that assesses their problem solving capabilities will still be set on a weekly basis.
