Students will begin the year looking at ways to improve their physical and emotional health. They study the theories of optimism vs pessimism.
In the second term they look at Fundamental British Values and then Relationships and Sex Education- friendships and their changing bodies.
In the third term they study economics- how to budget, advertising and the dangers of online game ‘microtransactions’. They also look at skills and aspirations.

In the final term they study economics- value for money, consumer choice and cashflow, before looking at community and career types.

Students will begin the year looking at ways to improve their physical and emotional health.
In the second term, they study the dangers of gangs and then Relationships and Sex Education- intimacy, the dangers of sexting and grooming.
In the final term they study economics- insurance, tax and ‘good’ and ‘bad’ debt. They also study how to set appropriate goals for themselves.
Y10
Students will begin the year looking at ways to improve their physical and emotional health. They will look at the negative effects of drink and drugs.
In the second term, students look at staying safe online and then through Relationships and Sex Education they study abusive relationships, the dangers of porn and revenge porn.
In the final term they study economics, grappling with insurance, savings and property. They then study the readiness for the workplace.
Y11
Students will begin the year looking at becoming better citizens. Then through Relationships and Sex Education they study transphobia, dealing with breakdown in relationships, fertility and reproductive health.
In the second term they study economics through the risks and benefits of credit, the dangers of short term loans and budgeting for student life.
They will finish their time with us studying appropriate workplace behaviour and how to curate their online profile.
