Modern Foreign Languages are the fabric of our multicultural society. It is our aspiration to introduce all students of Bohunt School Worthing to Mandarin and French and broaden their cultural horizons by providing them with the tools to become a part of our ever more connected globalised world. Our aim is to enable students to access outstanding teaching and allow them to gain knowledge through memorisation and retrieval practice. This is possible thanks to a wide range of activities enhanced by our special digital one to one IPad scheme. We therefore hope students become passionate linguists aspiring to tackle the wider world whilst reaching their full academic potential.

In KS3 students study French, and Mandarin. It is an expectation that almost all students will pursue a foreign language to GCSE. Students in year 9 will make this choice. There is also the option for some students to take both languages for GCSE.

In MFL, students will develop their language skills by studying topics such as lifestyle, leisure, holidays and the environment as well as developing their knowledge of other cultures.
